Woman In The Market
This image captures a raw strong emotion from this woman in the night markets, which within my shoots I was hoping to achieve. The lighting is placed seamlessly above the woman’s head creating a spotlight of her face, so it is lit perfectly creating a distinctive layer between the foreground and that background. Thus, reinforcing the focal point of the image and creating satisfying and complete image. As well as this, the image conforms to the rule of thirds, as she is placed on the middle third, creating a raw balanced composition.
The overall tone of emotions emits vulnerability, corroborated with the smoke around her creates an ominous mood creating enigma qualities. The use of the cold colour temperature allows the warmth of the complimentary colours, yellow and purple, to surface and communicate with each other to emphasize the main focal point of the woman. Thus, reinforcing the contrast within the image and the compositions creating alluring and interesting elements that will intrigue the naked eye.
The overall image emits a chaotic venerable narrative, therefore there are no leading lines as the lighting itself draws the eyes into the main focal point of the market woman. On my camera I used an ISO of 2500 as it was in a dark environment and needed as much light as possible going into the camera, however this did make my images very grainy although I think it adds some clarity into the composition. As well as this I used the shutter speed of 1/125 and an f stop of 2.
