The City
Within this image I think it encapsulates many aspects of Satoshi Minakawa (A Photographer) . For example, I used the natural ambient light, which contrasts against the artificial light from the buildings. Furthering this I wanted to experiment with the use of cold and warm color temperatures, this allows me to further reinforce this contrast.
However, the use of the vibrancy from the range of colors blend harmoniously together, thus they corroborate together creating a perfectly balanced composition. As well as this the use of reflections constructs dynamic elements into the shot. Thus, showing slight distortion of the buildings. This creates an overview of Manchester portraying the busy city narrative, thus the combination of formal elements with the use of the vibrant lights creates the notion of the chaotic environment.
However, due to the image being compositionally balanced, it also has aspects of calm and tranquil narrative. This is because it conforms to the rule of thirds, thus each building sits of a third. I feel this image was successful in embodying the story of Manchester and further into my brief I will delve deeper showing street photography of the people.
