Purgatory
Experimental Sound Project
This soundscape was developed as part of my final project, focusing on how sound can shape the experience of Purgatory within a game environment. The visuals are taken from Elden Ring, with all rights belonging to FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment.
I approached Purgatory as a space that sits in between—uncertain, suspended, and slightly disorienting. The aim was to create something that feels empty but not peaceful, using repetition and subtle variation to suggest time looping or stretching.
My role on it
All audio was recorded and designed by me. I worked with field recordings and foley, gradually building layers to create distance and isolation. Small shifts in sound were used to keep the space feeling unresolved, while processing helped push elements into a more abstract, less realistic environment.
